Pete The Cat: I Love My White Shoes

Pete The Cat goes on a journey and his shoes keep getting different colors on them when he walks through new areas. This book also has an audio book that is really fun for the kids to go along with. This is a great activity to help children learn their colors. There are great shoe templates online that can be printed off for a painting activity. Finger painting also helps children learn how colors work, especially when mixing the colors together. The sensory and fine motor development is another benefit of the painting. For the older kids, painting with a paint brush will also help their fine motor development.

Collages

My class loves taking old magazines and cutting out pictures for collages. This is great for developing their fine motor skills and helping them learn how to use a pair of scissors the correct way.
